GETTING A LIBRARY CARD


ELIGIBILITY FOR A LIBRARY CARD

RESIDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Any resident whose physical address is located in Denton County or anyone who pays property taxes to the City of Pilot Point and/or Denton County is eligible to receive a library card without charge. Any child 17 or younger may receive a library card if a parent or legal guardian meets requirements and signs the application form agreeing to be responsible for that minor.

IDENTIFICATION:

When applying for a borrower's card, the person must present a Texas driver's license, Texas I.D. card, or passport with photo.

PROOF OF RESIDENCY:

Any official document with the name and the CURRENT street address (physical address) of the person applying. Documents include:
personalized checks, voter registration card, utility bill or receipt, insurance card, or tax receipt for that year showing property owned in Denton County.

NON-RESIDENT CARDS:

Any person not meeting the above residential requirements may be issued a library card upon payment of a $20.00 nonrefundable annual fee. All other requirements must also be met relating to identification.

REPLACEMENT FEE:

Patrons must present a card to borrow materials. Lost cards can be replaced for $3.00 upon patron identification.
